Use the Worklist to Start an Exam

Ultrasound machines that support DICOM typically have the ability to pull a worklist from a worklist server. This worklist contains patient and exam information and makes it easy to start a scan for a patient without any manual entry of patient information on the ultrasound machine. 

This worklist is generated from your daily appointment calendar and the selected appointment types. To learn more about how to set up appointment types to communicate with the worklist, click How to Setup Appointment Types.

If you want to configure your ultrasound machines to communicate with the worklist server, please email Artisan Support at support@artisanfertility.com.

If your worklist is already configured, follow your ultrasound machine's instructions to access the worklist page and run a search by today's date to pull all patient's scheduled for an ultrasound that day.

Manually Enter the Patient ID into the Ultrasound Machine

Artisan uses the Patient ID number entered into your ultrasound machine to link the report from your instrument to the patient's IVF treatment record. Please use the formatting and all information from Artisan.

It is essential that you enter the patient's Artisan ID number exactly as it is seen on the patient's Home Page into the ultrasound machine's Patient ID field.

Create a DICOM Structured Report

Follow your ultrasound machine's instructions for saving all of the follicle and endometrial measurements as a "report". If you have any questions about how to do this, please contact your ultrasound representative. Below are the steps for a GE Voluson to demonstrate generally the steps that need to be taken.

GE Voluson

• Press Patient key.
• Enter relevant patient information including the Patient ID exactly as it appears in Artisan and click Start Exam on the right side.
• Acquire an image where you can perform a follicle measurement.
• Press the Calc button to start the measurement package.
• Select the Gynecology package on the touchscreen.
• Select Rt Follicle or Lt Follicle (Laterality can be changed on the button below the touchscreen.)
• Measure the left and right follicles.
• When measurements are complete, press the patient button.
• If all of the measurements are complete, press End/New Exam.  The measurements will be automatically sent to Artisan provided the initial configuration is completed.
