E-Prescribe features in Artisan are provided by MDToolbox and most of the set-up will take place in their screens. ID Proofing and EPCS Sign-up
In order to use MDToolbox, they require that the Practitioners prove their identity.
ID Proofing takes about 24 hours after you submit the forms to take effect. If you are wanting to prescribe controlled substances you will sign up for EPCS at the same time as your initial ID Proofing so you do not have to ID Proof twice.
Ohio users must have an active controlled substances token in order to e-prescribe any medication, not just controlled substances.
ID Proofing and EPCS Sign up will be done with the Artisan Support/Training Staff. To set up this step, please contact us at Support@artisanfertility.com.
Editing Practitioner Users for EPCS Setup
The first step to setting up a physician to E-prescribe is to make sure all of their information is added to their user account.
Click System Settings, roll over EMR Settings, and click Manage Staff Accounts.
This can only be done by a Practitioner or Clinic Admin user.
Make sure following information is filled in.
1. License Number
2. DEA Number
3. NPI Number
Then click Save.

Prescribing Locations
MDToolbox pulls location information from prescriptions. To add a prescribing location to MDToolbox you must first send a prescription with that location selected in the prescription. For more details about how to submit a prescription, refer to the manual How to Use ePrescribing.
