Document PGT : Biopsy and Results

Lab Notes is used to track all aspects of an embryo's stages, including biopsy and testing results. Using the tools in Lab Notes and the PGT tab, all biopsy and PGT (PGS/PGD) results may be recorded and seamlessly incorporated into the cryolog.

The PGT Tab

Like all aspects of embryo grading, you may select bulk or individual grading. Through either method, select the embryo(s) that you wish to biopsy and send for PGT testing.

1. Click the Biopsy radio button. The embryo(s) will carry the "Biopsy" notation in Lab Notes and will also land in the PGT tab.

2.  If you are also cryopreserving the embryo following biopsy, select Cryo.

3.  Click Commit to save.

The embryos in this instance are marked for both "Cryo" and "Biopsy".

Next, go to the PGT tab. The embryos marked for "Biopsy" will display in the PGT tab:

To enter the appropriate information, click in the box under "Biopsy Method".

The PGT portal will hold information for both PGT-a (aneuploidy screening) and for PGT-m (single-gene) studies.

You may enter the information available at the time of biopsy and then later return and enter the PGT results.

Select on the number to unselect the embryo for biopsy.

A verification window will appear. Select yes for the embryo to de-select for biopsy.

Display of PGT Results for Frozen Embryos in the Cryolog

The Cryo Log has a layout that displays the PGT results of all frozen embryos in the PGT Cryo Log tab.

Search for PGT results in The Cryo Log

You are able to search for a patient's PGT results by using the search bar in the upper left corner in the cryolog.  Search by the last name, first name in the search bar.  If that patient has PGT cryo embryos, the information will populate in the PGT cryo tab.

The PGT results displayed will also display the cryo information- cryo date, grade at cryo, along with the Device, Tank, Canister, and Cane. The PGT log will also display the current disposition of the embryo wether it is cryo'd or thawed along with the thaw day. The last column will include PGT results.
