Payment Plans allow practices to create scheduled monthly payments for patients unable to pay their entire outstanding balance.
Create a Payment Plan

In Accounting, click on the Patient tab.

Click the Payment Plan Schedule tab.

Click Create Payment Plan.
Any outstanding patient responsibility invoices will display in the invoice list. Click the checkbox(es) for the invoices you want to include in the payment plan.

Select the Start Date that you want payments to begin

Select the Number of Months for the payment plan. The Monthly Payment will automatically calculate based on the Total Selected and the Number of Months.

Click Create Plan.
A pop-up window will appear notifying you that your payment plan was added successfully.
The payment plan has been added to the list. In this list, there are several columns allowing users to see the following information:

Creation Date - the date the payment plan was established

Payment Status - when the next payment is due from the patient

Payments Left - how many payments remain in the payment plan

Next Due Date - upcoming due date

Next Payment Amount - amount of the payment due

Balance - how much remains to pay off the debt
Applying Payments to a Payment Plan
The dollar bill icon is where patient payments will be applied to the payment plan.
After clicking on the dollar bill icon, enter the details of the payment on the Enter New Payment screen. Click Save.
In the example above, after the patient payment was applied, the 1) the payment status, 2) the payments left, and 3) the balance have been updated.
Delete a Payment Plan
To delete a payment plan, click on the trash can icon.
A pop-up window will appear confirming that you permanently want to delete the payment plan. Click Yes.
The payment plan has been removed from the patient’s account.
Payment Plan Snapshot
In the Clinic Overview tab, click on the Payment Plan snapshot. This view will show all patients currently in a payment plan.
Click on the Name of the patient to access that payment plan. Follow the above steps to apply payments or monitor the payment plan.
